One drunk night Sobran Jodeau, 18 years old and madly in love with Celeste, stumbles into an angel. The angel Xas promises to return on the same day one year later to toast to Sobran's marriage.
I read The Vintner’s Luck last December during my Christmas break and I got completely absorbed by this beautiful novel. The story, which takes place in the French countryside among the vineyards, spans the life of Sobran Jodeau, son of a vintner. From the night Sobran first (quite literally) stumbles into Xas, they meet time and time again and their relationship develops into one of love.
This is probably one of the most perfect, finished novels I have ever read. The character development in this novel is amazing, even for side characters. Not to mention the ambiance of French summers, vineyards and wine making. This novel covers every aspect of life, setbacks as well as successes, without ever hitting clichΓ©s.
I received this book in a giveaway hosted by a blogger who loves the book dearly. After reading the book I feel exactly the same. I have come to adore this book and I want to pass it on…
So I have decided to give away one copy of The Vintner’s Luck!
This book is a prefect read for the LGBT Month. It is not a book that generally pops up as one of the usual suspects in the genre. That doesn’t make it an unknown book, but I would love for it to get a little more attention anyway!

Ooooh, angels ay? Sounds like an absolutely heavenly book! Ahhahaha, see what I did there? π Honestly though, this one has to be added to my mile and growing list of LGBT+ books I have to read. And a giveaway too? You’re just too generous! Oh and do you mind if I change your blog name to Brilliant Years? I have this weird thing where I can’t live without things being capitalized. If you prefer it that way, let me know and I’ll change it back!

Do add this book to your list! It’s gorgeous π
Haha go ahead. I’m just like you, can’t stand it when things aren’t capitalized… So please don’t ask me why I consciously decided not to capitalize my blog’s name hahaha
π
Many thanks to you and Cayce for hosting the LGBT Month π
I’ve read David Levithan and John Green’s Will Grayson, Will Grayson and I find it great. On the other hand, you can also watch Easy A where Olive (played by Emma Stones) helps a gay friend. It’s a really nice movie π
Thanks for the movie recommendation, I hadn’t heard of it yet π
I think my favorite LGBT read has been Secret by Brigid Kemmerer – mostly because I love that whole series and this book is just one more fantastic book in the series!

“French countryside among the vineyards!!” What a beautiful sounding setting! <33 And the whole story just sounds so, so good – exactly like my cup of tea or bottle of wine π

Admittedly I’m a wine lover so the setting was an extra plus π It’s a truly beautiful book!
I am recommending Sarah Waters all the way, also The Song of Achilles! Amazing books all!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Yeah I think we found out during the Twitter party last night that we share a taste in books π I’m going around your blog looking for more books that sound interesting π
Okay I know I totally responded to your comment on my own post, but I want to respond here too because this book looks awesome!
So. I’m officially recommending C.S. Pacat’s Captive Prince series…..again! Mwahahaha.
Don’t mind me while I pick through the rest of the recs too…

Thanks for the rec π Will check it out! (And by all means, go ahead! Let me know what you think of any novels you end up reading!)
Great review, I am so intrigued by this book!
I would recommend Every Day by David Levithan because it’s so beautiful, Golden Boy by Abigail Tarttelin because it’s hugely powerful, and Don’t Let Me Go by J.H. Trumble because it’s beautiful AND powerful! π
